Prairie Point Campground

2008 OPERATING SEASON 5/2/08 - 10/31/08

Located on the southeast shore of Green Mountain Reservoir, the Prairie Point  Campground has 8 camping sites, vault toilets, water and garbage service, and a stay limit of 14 days.  The Prairie Point Campground sits at an elevation of 8,010 feet.  All of the campsites are on a First-Come, First-Serve basis.  A FEE WILL BE CHARGED.  Discounts may apply, see pay station. 

GREEN MOUNTAIN RESERVOIR/CATARACT LAKE RECREATION MANAGEMENT PLAN 

Since 1943, recreational development on and around Green Mountain Reservoir and Cataract Lake has evolved with limited long range planning.  Some plans have been drafted, but never implemented.  The management to date has been generally satisfactory, however, increased use, conflicts among user groups, conflicts among recreation uses, lack of consistent funding, and resource impacts indicate that a long-range plan is needed.  Click on the photo of Green Mountain Reservoir below to view the new Recreation Management Plan.
